Course Overview
This course is designed to help construction workers stay safe on the job. Over two days, you’ll learn the basic safety rules and responsibilities expected at a construction site in Singapore. You’ll also get hands-on practice with safety gear and emergency procedures, especially for work at height and fire situations.
By the end of the course, you’ll know how to:
- Follow safety rules and recognise common site hazards
- Understand your legal rights and responsibilities as a worker
- Use safety gear (like helmets, harnesses, gloves) correctly
- Identify important safety signs around the site
- Work safely at heights and in confined spaces
- Respond calmly and correctly during fire emergencies
- Understand what a Permit to Work system is
This is a mandatory course for all construction site workers in Singapore.
Course Modules
CE 1: Identify own roles and responsibilities as an employee in a construction job
CE 2: Follow safe work procedures in a construction job
CE 3: Follow safe “Work-at-Height” procedures
CE 4: Respond to fire emergencies
Who Should Attend
This course is for all workers who need to enter or work on a construction site for building or engineering works.
Entry Requirements
To take this course, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be medically fit for manual work
- Be currently employed to do physical work at a construction site
You are also expected to:
- Understand simple English instructions (spoken and written)
- Be able to do basic math
- Have basic organisational skills
Course Format & Duration
- Total Duration: 18 hours (includes 2-hour assessment)
- Schedule: 2 full days (8:00am to 6:30pm)
- Attendance: 100% attendance is required
Training is conducted in person:
- Day 1 – Theory
- Day 2 – Practical and assessment
Assessment
- Written test: 1 hour (40 multiple-choice questions, 60% to pass)
- Practical test: 1 hour (must meet “Competent” standard)
Certification
If you complete the course and pass the assessments, you will receive:
- A Safety Pass from Fonda Global Engineering Pte Ltd
