  • Candidates will be grouped in pairs by BCA Testers;
  • Candidates to meet installation requirements on Safety, correct setting out of wall & column kicker and formworks, clamping to wall, bracing to column, setting out of beam shoring system & working platform, setting out of beam formwork & side bracings, project accuracy, application of nails/screw etc…

Scope of Training/Assessment

Test Level Written Practical
Foreman
  • 8 hrs (2 evenings 5-9pm)
  • General knowledge of Timber Formwork;
  • Components of Timber Formwork
  • Surveying and Calculation of Areas;
  • General Safety
  • Formwork Safety for workers;
  • Sample Written Test & review
  • 1 day (8.30am-5.30pm)
  • Test project comprises of fixed module structure 2800x1000x2900(H), with a wall, a column, and a beam;
  • Trainees will be briefed on BCA Assessment Criteria for Test Project;
  • Trainers will provide detailed explanation and demonstration on the correct method and sequence of installation of the formwork structure and the supporting false works;
  • Trainees will learn how to set-out the project, install the pre-fabricated timber kickers, transfer levels, control project level & dimensions, verticality, squareness, assembled the prefabricated formwork panels, method of nailing, method of clamping and bracing;
  • Trainees will be grouped in pairs to practice on the formwork installation and dismantling;
  • At the end of trainings, trainees should be able to assembled the test project in correct sequence and method, understand the proper clamping, nailings & bracing method, and understand the proper setting out of falseworks and working platform for beam, etc within 5 Hr.

Remarks

    • suitable for workers with prior formwork installation and scaffold installation experience
    • Must passed both written and practical test to be qualified as CoreTrade personnel (Foreman).
