  • Candidates will be grouped in pairs by BCA Testers;
  • Test comprises 5 parts
  • a) 10 mins – individual calculation of level & shim plate thickness
  • b) 30 mins – individual setting out & fabrication of L-shaped timber kicker
  • c) 15 mins – individual group setting marking & setting out of project & pre-fabricated timber kickers
  • d) 20 mins – individual group setting out of level instrument, transfer of TBM & shim plate calculation
  • e) 3 hrs – individual group installation of alum formwork panels in accordance to project drawing.
  • Candidates to meet installation requirements on Safety, levelling, verticality, project accuracy, squareness etc…

Foreman

  • General knowledge of Formwork;
  • Alum Formwork;
  • Safety in Alum Formwork;
  • Formwork Safety for workers;
  • Sample Written Test review
  • 3 days (8.30am-5.30pm)
  • Test project comprises of fixed module structure 2850x2200x3100(H), with a wall, 2 columns, and a slab;
  • New test requirements include setting use of Auto-level instrument for level transfer, level calculations and shim plate thickness calculations;
  • New timber kicker project, setting out construct L-shaped timber kicker;
  • Trainees will be briefed on BCA Assessment Criteria for Test Project;
  • Trainers will guide the trainees on the setting up of auto-level instrument, concept in levelling, standard way of level calculations and shim plate thickness calculations;
  • Trainers will guide the trainees on the standard preparation of kicker materials to control the kicker’s dimensions and squareness;
  • Trainers will provide detailed explanation and demonstration on the correct method and sequence of installing the Alum formwork project, and the correct sequence of dismantling;
  • Trainees will learn how to setup auto-level equipment, construct install timber kickers, transfer & calculation of levels and shim plate thickness, control project level dimensions, verticality, squareness, install the alum formwork panels in the correct sequence and at their correct positions;
  • Trainees will be grouped in pairs to practice on the formwork installation and dismantling;
  • At the end of trainings, trainees should be able to setup auto-level equipment, understand levels transfer calculations, understand how to calculate shim plate thickness, construct and install the timber kickers, remember all the formwork panels locations and installed them to test requirements within 3 Hrs, and dismantle the completed project in correct sequence safely.

Remarks
    • Trainees to be physically fit to handle the alum panels (up to 28kg/pc)
    • Trainees must passed both written and practical test to be qualified as CoreTrade personnel (Foreman/Tradesman).
    • Must passed both written and practical test to be qualified in SEC(K)
