Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Metal Work

Course Overview

This one-day course trains workers to work safely in metalworking environments. You’ll learn how to identify hazards, follow safety rules, and respond appropriately during emergencies, especially in relation to fire safety and metalwork operations.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
  • Understand your rights and responsibilities under WSH laws and the Employment Act
  • Follow safe work procedures in a metalwork setting
  • Recognise safety signs and identify workplace hazards
  • Wear the correct personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Respond effectively during fire emergencies
  • Identify and use the correct fire extinguishers
  • Apply WSH protocols such as the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system
This course is mandatory for all workers in metalworking environments in Singapore.

Course Modules

  • CE 1: Identify own roles and responsibilities as an employee in a metalwork job
  • CE 2: Follow safe work procedures in a metalwork job
  • CE 3: Respond to fire emergencies

Who Should Attend

This course is for all workers operating in metalworking settings such as metal manufacturing, machinery, or electrical equipment production.

Entry Requirements

To take this course, you must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be medically fit for manual work
  • Be employed in a factory engaged in metal or machinery-related work
You must also be able to:
  • Understand simple English (spoken and written)
  • Be able to do basic math
  • Have basic organisational skills
  • Be able to follow both oral and written instructions

Course Format & Duration

  • Total Duration: 9.25 Hours include of 1.25 Hours assessment
  • Schedule: 1 full day (8:00am to 7:15pm)
  • Attendance: 100% attendance is required
Training is conducted in person through:
  • Classroom lectures
  • Demonstrations
  • Hands-on practice

Assessment

  • Written test: 40 multiple-choice questions
  • Practical demonstration: Fire response and PPE use

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, you will receive:
  • A Safety Pass issued by Fonda Global Engineering Pte Ltd
