Course Overview

This mandatory course provides workers with essential knowledge and practical skills for safely performing formwork activities at construction sites. It covers hazard identification, risk assessment, and the safe use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during formwork installation, alteration, and dismantling.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
  • Understand legal requirements and worker responsibilities for formwork
  • Identify different types of formwork used in construction
  • Apply basic risk assessment for formwork-related work
  • Spot hazards and take preventive measures
  • Wear the correct PPE and observe WSH protocols for formwork and work-at-height tasks

Who Should Attend

  • This course is for all workers involved in formwork construction activities across construction and related industries.

Entry Requirements

To attend this course, you must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a Singaporean, PR, or hold a valid employment/work permit
You must also be able to:
  • Workplace Literacy Level 3 and above (ES WSQ)
  • Workplace Numeracy Level 3 and above

Course Format & Duration

Total Duration: 7 hours (including 1-hour assessment)
  • Day Class: 1 full day (8:30am to 5:30pm)
  • Attendance: 100% attendance is required
Training includes:
  • Classroom lectures
  • Demonstrations
  • Assessment

Assessment

  • Written Test: 40 multiple-choice questions
     Participants must meet the required passing standard to be marked “Competent.”

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, you will receive:
  • A Safety Pass
  • An e-Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
Results are released within one week of course completion.
