Course Overview

This course equips participants with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills to safely erect and dismantle metal scaffolds in compliance with the WSH (Scaffolds) Regulations and SS659 standards.
Under the law, any scaffold above 4 metres must be erected by a trained and certified scaffold erector. This course is mandatory for all scaffold erectors and recommended for those involved in formwork or falsework support erection.

Entry Requirements

To attend this course, you must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a Singaporean, PR, or valid employment/work permit holder
  • Be medically and physically fit for manual work
  • Bring and wear your own safety boots for practical sessions
You must also be able to:
  • Understand and communicate in the language of instruction

Course Format & Duration

Total Duration: 38 hours
  • 30 training hours + 8 assessment hours
  • Day Class: 5 full days or 5 Sundays (8:30am to 6:30pm)
  • Evening Class: 9 evenings (6:00pm to 10:00pm)
  • Attendance: 100% required
Training includes:
  • Classroom lectures
  • Demonstrations
  • Hands-on practical performance

Assessment

  • Written Test: 30 multiple-choice questions (60% to pass)
  • Practical Test: Scaffold erection and dismantling tasks (must meet “Competent” standard)

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive:
  • An e-Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
  • A Safety Pass issued by Fonda Global Engineering Pte Ltd
Results are released within one week of course completion.
