Supervise Workplace Safety and Health for Formwork Construction

Course Overview

This course equips learners with the essential skills and knowledge to supervise formwork activities, including construction, erection, alteration, dismantling, and inspection of formwork structures on construction sites. It is aligned with the WSH Act, Work at Height Regulations, and relevant Codes of Practice such as SS580:2012 and SS311:2005.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
  • Apply WSH Act and formwork-specific regulations
  • Understand the role of a Formwork Supervisor
  • Interpret construction drawings for formwork structures
  • Conduct risk assessments and inspections
  • Respond to structural failures and on-site emergencies

Who Should Attend

This course is mandatory for supervisors overseeing formwork activities at construction sites and related industries.

Entry Requirements

To enrol, you must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a Singaporean, PR, or hold a valid work pass/permit
You are also expected to:
  • Have ESS WPLN (Workplace Literacy and Numeracy) Level 4 or equivalent
  • Be able to perform basic numerical tasks (Numeracy Level 4)
  • Preferably have completed SEC(K) Formwork Training (Timber, Aluminium, or System) by BCA

Course Format & Duration

Total Duration: 36 hours (includes 4 hours of written assessment)
Options:
  • Day Class: 4.5 full days or 4.5 Sundays (8:30am – 6:30pm)
  • Evening Class: 9 evenings (6:00pm – 10:00pm)
  • Attendance Requirement: 75% minimum
Training methods include:

Assessment

  • Written Test: 100 multiple-choice questions
  • Role Play / Case Study: Scenario-based supervision application

Certification

Upon successful completion and passing the assessment, you will receive:
  • An e-Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
  • A Safety Pass issued by Fonda Global Engineering Pte Ltd
Results will be released within one week of course completion.
