Supervise Safe Lifting Operations

Course Overview

This course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills required to supervise safe lifting operations, as mandated by the WSH (Operation of Cranes) Regulations. Participants will learn how to prepare for lifting, guide crane operations, and supervise the safe completion and reinstatement of the lifting area.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
  • Prepare and plan for safe lifting operations
  • Supervise the crane operator and lifting team
  • Understand load charts and lifting plans
  • Monitor lifting activities and ensure compliance
  • Reinstate the lifting site and document key details

Who Should Attend

This course is suitable for aspiring or experienced lifting supervisors responsible for overseeing lifting operations at the workplace.

Entry Requirements

To attend this course, you must:
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Be medically fit
You must also have:
  • Completed a WSQ/MOM Rigger and Signalman Course or Marine Rigger and Signalman Course
  • At least 3 months of relevant experience in lifting operations (supported by a company or individual application letter)
And be able to:
  • Listen, speak, read, and write English at Employability Skills Level 4
  • Work with numbers at Employability Skills Level 4

Course Format & Duration

Total Duration: 35 hours (32 hours training + 3 hours assessment)
  • Day Class: 4 full days
  • Attendance: 100% required
  • Language: English

Assessment

  •  Written Test – Section A:
    • Part A: Lifting Plan – 10 questions (2 marks each)
    • Part B: Rigger & Signal tasks – 10 questions (1 mark each)
    • Part C: General – 55 questions (1 mark each)
  • Written Test – Section B:
    • Load Chart – 5 questions (3 marks each)
  •  Passing Criteria:
    • Section A: 65%
    • Section B: 100%
    • Practical Assessment: 100%

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive:
  • An e-Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
  • A Safety Pass issued by Fonda Global Engineering Pte Ltd
Results will be released within one week of course completion.
